This was opened as contribution to jdaw-junior's virtual headwetting, so the notes are a tad on the late side.

Bottled 2006. The nose is full of raisins and almonds, but also shows a high amount of alcohol. Slightly medicinal to taste, with a slightly hollow mid-palate, but ending with a lovely full finish. Again raisins and almonds, together with pine and a hint of maple syrup. Fat and full. I remember this being better when I tasted it some years ago at the Kopke lodge. Maybe a fresher bottling would make a difference. This bottle, while very enjoyable, was a tad simple. 88 points.

Given the shortage of quality port here in the desert, we've been enjoying this in moderation over the last weeks. The bottle is in the fridge and every now and then we have a glass. It's been very constant throughout, and it's especially enjoyable when slightly chilled.
