1958 Krohn Colheita (bottled 2004)

Post by Luc »

Shared a 1958 Krohn Colheita at my mom's 72nd B'day .
Bottled in 2004 .
Upon opening , an overwhelming , intense , very sweet smell .
Of what ? Caramel probably .
After one hr decanting , sweet smell had greatly diminished ,
fortunately , this was in the last glass . . .

So , I had to have another bottle of Krohn Colheita 1958 with peanut butter to compare the obvious similarities . . .
As I suspected , the peanut butter acted as a buffer to the tannins and almost completely negated the sweetness . . .

Well done Luc!

As a fellow Non-Tasting Note sort of guy. Good to see. We'll get the hang of it eventually...Wont we???
