Post by jdaw1 »

The auction catalogue wrote:The Remaining Contents of White Lodge, Richmond Park ! will be sold at auction by Messrs. Christie, Manson & Woods ! on Tuesday November 8, 1938 !

Telephone: Whitehall 8177
!
203 Three dozen Bottles of Champagne, Veuve-Cliquot, 1919 Brut

204 Two dozen ditto more or less

205 Four dozen Bottles of Champagne, Louis Roederer, 1919 more or less
What is meant by the italicised more or less?

(Lot 203 sold for ‟25.10.” to Smith; lot 204 for ‟16 .” to ‟do” (= ditto); and lot 205 for ‟26 . .” to Hart.)
