T+0 A uniform reddish brown. Lots of fine sediment floating around ... Should have stood it up longer then a day.
Perfumey loads of baked cinnamon and orange zest (this is the 4th bottle of c77 that had orange zest) with a medium amount of spirits.
Oh man what a stunner, candied orange peels with cardamon infused stewed fruits. A hot finish still that hits the nasopharynx with anise and sweet liquor.
It could be that I haven't had a real drink in over a month, but this was something.

Re: 1977 Croft Vintage Port
My #1 of the night. And happily I just acquired two bottles of it!
Nose of light fruits, strawberry, and cranberry (as julian ID'd). There's Licorice, chocolate, cranberries and (yes sean) cherry in the mouth. It's smooth, there's some citrus (jeff says orange, julian has some prewar/postwar formula). Overall, 93.

Croft: translucent brick red/brown. Nose of cranberries. Unctuous good mouthfeel in the same way but not to the same extent as the Ferreira. Acidic, and a taste reminiscent of marmalade.
Pre-WW2 Croft tastes of mandarins; post-WW2 Croft of orange marmalade.SushiNorth wrote:julian has some prewar/postwar formula
