2007 Warre

Post by DRT »

Tasted as part of DRT's Review of 2007 Cask Samples

Sweet and fruity nose - not aggressive. Thick texture and soft on entry. Tannic and astringent then very dry with a short finish.

Very fresh fruity nose. Even thicker than before with the entry now bigger more more aggressive acidity and tannin. Longer finish that is tooth-squeakingly dry.

Plummy nose - very good! Lovely thick texture with tone of red fruit before the tannins kick in and take over. The finish is long and mouthwatering in the cheeks but dry on the palate and lips. Delicious!

Smooth entry with lots of very dry tannin and sharp acidity in the midpalate. No heat to speak of. Long finish.

Spicy nose. High acidity and powdery tannins. Hot finish but very long, fruity and dry on the lips and tongue.

All the components seem to be there but not all pulling together. Acidity seems too high for me.
