2007 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by DRT »

Tasted as part of DRT's Review of 2007 Cask Samples

Each of the paragraphs below are separate notes taken over a period of a few days:

Very fruity nose - mid weight with high acidity and a bit raw. Big fruity finish but very dry.

Beautifully delicate jammy nose. Heavier now. Everything about this is big and raw.

Nose quite muted. Nice thick texture. Acidity still dominats initially then big cherry flavours. Mouth numbingly dry finish that goes on forever.

Fruit bomb entry. Tannins quite soft and acidity high. Light in the mouth. Medium length finish but quite harsh.

fabulous blackcurrant nose. Thick and chewy. Good dark fruits but a little sharp in the mid palate. Very dry taninns at the end.

A big wine. Good texture and balance between fruit, acidity and tannin.
