2007 Dow

Post by DRT »

Tasted as part of DRT's Review of 2007 Cask Samples

Each of the paragraphs below are separate notes taken over a period of a few days:

Closed/dull nose. Light weight, raw and very tannic. Acidic finish with a tingle of mint on the end.

Nose starting to open a little. Very aggressive entry. High acidity and then very dry. Delicious long fruity finish.

Nose still a little dull. Nice weight. Smooth entry with lots of black fruits. All part have come together with nothing aggressive or dominant. Finish shorter now.

Very balanced. Big fruit with soft taninns with good acidity. No rough edges. Impressive finish which ends up being very dry.

Mid weight. Molases on the nose. Cherry flavours with big dominating tannins. Long, slightly bitter finish.

Not a blockbuster, too thin to be that, but good structure, fruit and tannin.
