From half a case bought last year with Berry's Own labels. Levels variable, this one the worst; with a level at the borderline of IN & BN. No evidence however, of seepage when decanted yesterday; so i suspect an erratic fill on the bottling line.
Not a very clean decant, modest amount of fine gritty sediment.
Having suffered two corked bottles in the space of a week, I thought for a while this was going to be a third, but in the event it proved to be some rather persistant bottle stink.
The wine is darker than most 77's and the tannins lack the harsh edge of some other wines from that vintage. But tannins there are, and the wine is not fully mature yet. On the palate it's a little chocolatey, and rather similar to the Morgan '91 I had recently.
Drinking nicely at D + 6hrs last night, will re-visit this evening.
