Light in colour without being pale. Very closed on the nose, showing little until a swirl is used to release a touch of spearmint and Canadian Raisin Pie. Very smooth entry, with a touch of tannins and a stewed red fruit sweetness. A bubblegum aftertaste is followed by a generous stewed raisin that lasts a long time. Perhaps a little one-dimensional, but that one dimension is delivered very well. 88/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
