2000 Quinta do Crasto vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Crasto port accounts for about 10% of the output from the Crasto quinta and is sourced from block planted vineyards. Deep in colour with an opaque centre and colour right into the rim. Gentle marshmallows on the nose, mixed in with fresh and sharp raspberries. Very soft and silky texture. Smooth tannins and a bounty of opulent rich and ripe fruit. The ripe fruuit carries into the finish, which is gentle and quite long. Enjoyable youthful port. 88/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
