Burnt sienna in colour. A little bit of heat on the nose which is otherwise quite closed. Medium to light body, drying tannins which hold back the fruit for a while. The fruit comes and goes, but eventually stays at a good level. A big aftertaste, which starts immediately and is huge. Very dry aftertaste, full of chocolate tannins. 94/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
