1970 Taylor vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Lovely glowing red in colour with a pink rim. Plasticine tone on the nose under a pleasant fruity nose. Sweet in the mouth, plenty of fruit but a little subdued. Tannins are subdued and well supported by good developing fruit. The aftertaste is pleasant and of reasonable length, but is not big. Surprisingly, this is not as good as the Sao Luiz 1970 shown alongside. 89/100. Drunk 27 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
