Very pale - palest of all the 1970s on show. Huge nose, full of caramelised cherry. Smooth, medium texture and showing secondary cherry fruit with a slight and not unpleasant sourness. A little simple in the palate, but a forgiveable fault. Big aftertaste, very mouthfilling; very long and with huge levels of fruit and enormous levels of pleasure. A deceptive wine which provides great enjoyment. 91/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
