1999 Quinta do Silval Magalhaes LBV

Post by Michael M. »

My third or fourth bottle of this LBV. A half of a normal bottle decanted for about 2 hours, the other half left in the bottle and stored in the fridge. Ruby red centre, brick red at the edge, very nice appearence. I never saw this one to be on the purple side. Nose did not give much, some red fruits a bit of alcohol. On the palate fresh impression, not overly sweet, very elegant style, raspberries, red cherries, cigar box. Also on day 2 really enjoyable. I found this one very pleasant because of its elegant style. Not a blockbuster at all. Really seductive. I would assume that this would go at last further 5 years.
