NV Cruz Pink

Post by jdaw1 »

Cruz Pink, referred to in the thread entitled Latest buy.

To behold, neon pink. Coming straight from the freezer, no obvious nose. To taste massive artificial sugar, cloying sourness late palate, and long aftertaste that fades from artificial to natural sugar.

Avoid, even at €7,35 a bottle.

What a way to try to fit into the hip Parisian crowd. You really are a glutton for punishment.

Did you buy it in large format?
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

I chose it to ensure than things can only get better.

Yes, large format: 750ml. Way too large.

Did you use the remainder of the bottle to sanitise the toilet in your appartment before leaving NYC?

No it was bought in Paris, on Boulevard de Sébastopol.

My brother-in-law liked it. ‟Party juice”, apparently. His mother, my mother-in-law, didn’t, broadly agreeing with me. Wisely I had given a reputation-saving warning of the expert opinion of Cruz and of Pink.

A port worse than Cruz Ruby. Who had thought this would be possible.

Can't avoid laughing when reading this thread... you're hard to impress. But be careful with blind tastings :P
