1970 Dalva

Decanted at 7am to be drunk this evening with a friend of similar vintage! The cork came out pretty cleanly, albeit in two parts and much against my expectations, given the brittle wax seal over it. It decanted very cleanly, having been stood up twelve hours earlier. The last few drops were popped into a glass for quality control this morning!

At first glance, this still has a good colour. I am looking forward to this evening.

No specific notes on this were taken but the general consensus was "lovely", "smooth", "integrated" "easy to drink" etc. My own view was "fantastic - I want more of these!" The alcohol was smooth, there was plenty of fruitiness and just enough tannin to make you know what you were drinking.
