Good idea. Perhaps a New Yorker should send a PM to New York tasters?

I am out of town on the 23rd and 24th, so the proposed 22nd might be do-able. First weekend of October is also a mess of parties and such. I've a friend in town on the 9th who would like to drink Port. other than that, i'm good! :)

Hmm, well before we do, were there any other options? (I need to be on a plane the next morning...)

So Josh and Mike. Looks like it might be the tasting of us 3 stooges.
You guys have any suggestion of location?

Shake shack?

If you hold it on the 30th there's a small chance that I can fly over for it. If I'm still unemployed at that time then there'd really be nothing standing in my way.

But of course I won't know for sure until at least the middle of October.

30th could work. Shake shack might be trouble (outdoors and all). Other options? And given that this is the night before halloween, have we a theme?

I'm in, I'll bring 1970 Sandeman as a prelude to the Sandeman tasting in the spring.

As an alternative has been requested, i would propose one of the following...
Dow77 (tho we'll be drinking it again in Dec/Jan)
Croft77
Warres77
Graham80
Hooper63

(FYI, i have another Croft 77, along with a Croft 85, that i'm saving for a future vertical)

Hi everyone,
Newby here though I've met some of you already. I don't have any good port to offer, but I'll bring a white or two if my GF decides to join us.

Greetings, and welcome to great port tastings.

Usual practice would be for you to ‘adopt’ a bottle of port from somebody else, with private settlement ($ or wine) between you.

Hi guys! Long time no web.

So this is on the 30th right? Since it appears that there are only a few of us going (and GMAN, please add me in as 1 person) what do you guys think of this idea on my contribution:

Some late harvest wines like Riesling Beerenauslese. Those would go well with some of the desserts and cheese. Also, if they are serving anything with Foie Gras, pairs great with those too.

What time is the reservation for?

I can buy a bottle of port from someone or trade some red/white wine. Let me know.

I will be picking up a Port from the 90s. Gman mentioned he had the other decades covered.

Are any of you going to be in costume that evening?
