NV Sainsbury 10YO Tawny (Bottled 2008)
Bottled 2008 by Syminton Family Estates.

Reddish brown fading to brown at the rim. Seems to have more brown-ness than the Taylor 10 yo (from memory). Not the greatest nose as the alcohol seems to dominate the nose a little, with the usual marzipan hiding in there somewhere. Slightly chemical. However delicious in the mouth, prominent but clean acidity with coffee and almonds and a lovely sweetness. A good finish that lingers.

Excellent value at £11.49, even better with the current 25% discount. I prefer it to the Taylor, and also preferable to an overpriced Marks and Spencer 20 year old I once nursed.

I like the tawnies for their more 'open' flavours (does that make sense?), also they keep better - I'm one that drinks the bottle over a couple of weeks (any longer and it might evaporate.)
