2000 Croft

Post by g-man »

Finding out I'm not getting a bonus this year always calls for opening of a VP at a restaurant irrespective of mark up. (though they had a grahams 77 for 600$ which I wasn't going to bite on).

Massive amount of fruit on the nose.
Spicy black pepper backed by a sweet cedar wood, blue berries and some lush cran berries on the bouquet.

Taste of lush cardamon sweet tart black cherries, crushed white peppers and a finish of freshly squeeze on the flesh with rind orange.

This was a fantastic specimen of what a croft should be.

93 pts.

Sorry to hear about the lack of bonus, but the VP sounds like it was great!

That's a great find. I was already very happy to find 1 bottle at 25 euro. :)
I think I tasted this port last about two years ago. Back then I was also very much surprised by how well it showed. I remember I wasn't impressed at all just after release, but it seems to be coming around nicely.

Thanks for sharing. I've been looking at this VP for awhile now because for some reason it can be found at excellent prices here in the US. I think I will get some after reading your note. Bill
