1927 Taylor vintage port
Courtesy of Tom Archer, who provided a small sample served blind. Deep red in colour, transparent centre. A lovely nose of mature port - sweet redcurrants over a roast meat core. Very sweet and flavoursome in the mouth, big and rich - very Graham like. A lovely texture and a very impressive complexity. Heat on the aftertaste, characteristic of a Taylor wine and a very, very long finish. I guessed this to be a Taylor 1955 and was astonished to be told that it was a Taylor 1927. Very, very impressive. 95/100. Drunk on 30 November 2009 after about 36 hours in the decanter.
