1980 Graham's Vintage Port

Post by RonnieRoots »

Tasted during a wonderful tasting, hosted and prepared by Gustavo, in the Graham's lodge (26/11/2009)

Clearly aged in colour, losing its red. Spicy, slightly spirity (as Graham's tends to be), and a bit hard. There is some light and pleasant fruit to this, but the flavours are mainly aged. The finish shows an almost sherry-like dryness. This is a very pleasant port, that has grip and bite, but it seems to be losing its fruit fast. I had expected this to show younger. Drink now. (According to Gustavo, this bottle was very similar to others opened recently in the lodge.)
