2007 Quevedo Vintage Port

Post by RonnieRoots »

From half bottle. First tasted together with Oscar at Quevedo's winery and finished off over two days.

An impressive fresh and floral nose. The fruit is very much focused, with wonderful ripe flavours of blackcurrant, forest fruit and dark cherries. The elegance of the fruit is lovely, but the powerful tannin structure is always there to tell you this is serious stuff. Bay leaf and black pepper on the finish. At night, and the next day, it is even more expressive. The fruit is more on the foreground, which creates a fuller mouthfeel. Very, very well done. Congratulations Oscar and Claudia!
