1998 Fonseca Quinta do Panascal

Post by benread »

Acquired recently from Virgin wines. I wanted to see how some younger ports would fare at this time of year. This is a very dark black red colour, just a little clarity at the edges. Smells like damsons. Tastes like port! Lots of tannins and a lovely after taste if swirled around the mouth. If I had a real fire at home, this would be a great port for sitting in front of it!

This definitely has some years of life in it if so desired, but as I bought it to drink, that is probably what I shall do - unless a lone bottle gets lost and forgotten!
