Specially presented outside the tasting after a delicious meal:
This Colheita was bottled to Demijohns in 1972 and bottled thereafter in 2003.
Very intense dark orange colour with some green reflections. I guessed it to be from the 60s, but definitely not 1860s. Outstandingly vital for this age. Full and intense bouquet with honey and malt. The palate is as well extremely intense. Some woody hints with a full range of Toffee- and Honeyflavours. Very integrated and complex. Extremely long aftertaste, full and intense with more to come after the port left the mouth.
Fantastic. 19
Thanks, Dirk

Blue Stilton and Port - what else!
Re: 1863 Niepoort Colheita
This wine is remarkable in any context, but when one recalls that it has spent well over a century before being bottled, it boggles your mind. The colour is radiant tawny-bernstein and its aromas soar from the glass in an explosion of minty-molasses, cherries, orange zest, raisins, leather and butterscotch scents. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly deep, full-bodied and balanced, structured and focussed, complex with prominent acids and a very long aftertaste. This will last well into the latter half of the 21st century. Thanks for bringing this Dirk! Cheers, victor
