This was only opened a matter of minutes before we started tasting and it was noticeable how it improved over the evening. It only had an hour but that was sufficient to take the heat off it. The colour was an almost perfect translucent red that belied its vintage. Once the initial heat had gone it was a lovely port to drink.

Let me guess - that would be Christopher's bottle then?benread wrote:This was only opened a matter of minutes before we started

Re: 1977 Warre
Yes I forgot to bring my port into the office yet again! Luckily one of my clients gave me a Warre 77 which was happily sitting on my desk. It was an excellent bottle source Corney and barrow - hats off to them, i had a bottle a couple of weeks before and the colour was nowhere near as good. That also explains why i bust the 70 - 85 theme sorry! based on this bottle I would definitely like topick up some more.
Re: 1977 Warre
Christopher's bt Warre 1977 was just amazing. The best Warre 1977 I had so far; very pure, smooth, delicate and to the point. Did improve nicely with time and showed all characteristics of a great port. Thanks a lot for bringing this bt even though it was not perfectly fitting into the theme 70 - 85. On average it definitely would have been (77.5)

Is anyone else reading and thinking that he or she is in the wrong profession?Christopher wrote:Yes I forgot to bring my port into the office yet again! Luckily one of my clients gave me a Warre 77 which was happily sitting on my desk.
It's good to hear this showed well; some of the other tasting notes on suggest that there can be a bit of bottle variation in this Port.
