It is with the S77, and actually i think that number is a little high We got very good prices on wine, what is a $98 or $100 tasting for 5 would have been 170 at regular prices. I'm kinda surprised more people haven't taken us up on this offer and filled that last couple of seats.Glenn E. wrote:You drank them all by "accident"?g-man wrote:sooo, looks like Sushi and I might have pulled a Killerb on our stash of sandeman 77s
Is the $102/person with or without the Sandeman '77? (I'm guessing without, as averaging $100/bottle for this age would be pretty darn good.)

Excuse me, but how did I end up being the butt if all the jokes in this thread?
I will find those missing Vesuvio, even if it means I have to buy them again.
Julian, I'm not so sure about thee.
My glasses, in their nice polywotsamene box, have been washed and dried,
Yours paranoically,
Killer with a B

Suggested Decant times:
Sandeman 1960: 0-2hrs
Sandeman 1963: 0-2hrs -- i'm opening this at the restaurant, i am attempting to arrive there early.
Sandeman 1966: 0-2hrs
Sandeman 1970: 7hrs
Sandeman 1977: 8hrs
Thoughts? I should note that Uncle Tom proposes all of these get at least 24 hrs

yes, 6:30, and 6 people. Do you think the 60 and 66 need that much time? Should I be providing 12+hrs for the 66, 70, and 77?g-man wrote:I was going to take the middle road and do 12 hours for the 60 and 66.

Re: ACPT Port Tasting, NYC, 2/19/2010
well out of bottle they all say spirity and it's what I've found with the 70 and 77 we've had.
I figure the same for the 66 and 60, I guess I'll gauge the morning of,
If the bottle is spirity, I'll leave it open bottled for the 8 hours
if it's fine, I'll recork immediately.

Sounds like a good plan to me.g-man wrote:If the bottle is spirity, I'll leave it open bottled for the 8 hours

We're heading for NYC tomorrow morning early, arriving in time for dinner at Perilla. A couple of days of touristy stuff (mostly food), the Port tasting on Friday night, then the crossword puzzle tournament is on Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be a great trip!
