I think he was sipping the "other" Port when he typed that....it's now 1330 and where are all the "quality control" TN's?RonnieRoots wrote:You probably want to change the title of this post.

Dark, again. Much less present on the nose than the normal '07. Surprisingly subtle on the palate with very few tannins. Subdued elegance which makes it extremely drinkable now. If this lasts to maturity it should be spectacular.

More complex, more spirited, and more structured than the basic 2007. Johnny Syms says this is 30% more expensive -- which I thought sounded precisely appropriate given the step up in quality.

Floral nose. Quite aggressive with great levels of fruit and tannin. Not a lot of obvious acidity. This is the third time I have tasted the Capela 07 and it has gone from being a wine that initially appeared softer and lighter than the standard Vesuvio bottling to being the "bigger" wine of the two. It will be extremely interesting to see how this wine will develop in the years to come and even more interesting to see what happens to the brand and the evolution of the price differential for future vintages and in the secondray market. My guess is that the 30% differential quoted by Johnny will apear to be very good value in 5 years time

VC07: So smooth. Heat mid-palate. Like ’94s, late-palate smaller than early- and mid-palate. Relative to the V07, fabulous now.
