1985 Croft

Post by DRT »

Served blind at this off-line at the Crusting Pipe, London, on 9th March 2010.

The ports: Wines marked "*" were purchase on the night at TCP due to a world record consumption of 1 bottle each in less than 2 hours, which included dinner

I took a sample bottle home and tried it again, 24 hours after opening. Still full of VA but underneath all that nail varnish is a tasty and powerful port. One to avoid if you don't like VA but a nice port if you don't mind VA (I'm in the latter camp).

Don't be absurd you jack@$$es, everyone knows there is absolutely NO VA problem with the 85 vintage!

Nothing to see here.

Hmm, am now a bit puzzled; does this mean you liked the Croft 1985 bts we had? And you feel that they did not have VA? or is this just again a kind of humor Germans do not understand

As soon as I saw "1985 Croft" I thought, "Wow, someone is brave."

The Crusting Pipe were extremely understanding and accepted both bottles we bought as returns, so they cost us nothing (but neither were we able to drink anything but a tiny sample).
