1963 Offley Boa Vista
"The Sampler" on Upper Street has this in their little machine. 4 quid or so gets you a mini glass, and while small, it gives a decent enough impression of the wine.
This effort, which was likely never anything to write home about, appears to be drying out and on its last legs. Light, almost rust in color. Pretty flat on the nose, with a bit of cheap strawberry syrup, cough medicine, and burnt wood (the nicest part of the nose). Pretty thin and tired on the palate, with decent grip by virtually no fruit. Not 'bad,' and a worthwhile experience, but not something to seek out, and certainly not worth the 96 quid price tag.
