1963 Quinta do Noval, decanted 4pm. At D+0hr 80% translucent, such colour as there was being brick-red-brown. Nose closed. To taste sweetness, caramel, and very faintly, raspberry. Very pleasant, but not great port.

At d+2hr much improved: richer, the texture more unctuous, and longer. There’s more red fruit than before, but still not a lot of it. Drink up!
