1980 Warre
Re: 1980 Warre
W80: the darkest, by a long margin. Very black. Doesn’t look like a Warre. Very sweet, with smoke late palate: a sweet pipe smoke. Alas I never smoked a pipe, so cannot name the brand of pipe tobacco. But quite different from the other Warres.
Re: 1980 Warre
On the night: Very, very dark. Young fruits on the nose. Quite disjointed and immature. May be closed?
4 days later: Still closed and very, very tannic. Slightly bitter on the palate but with lots of black fruit. Long finish with a warming glow. Very nice port but still just a baby.
