Re: 1970 Dow
D70: the decanter-priming sample, at D+0.
JDAW: some crushed raspberry. To taste thick, rich, more of the raspberry, a little heat mid-tongue and mid-palate, then a great length with a sweet finish. Raspberries for me. Very fine, but very very sweet for Dow.
DRT: ‟brambles” (presumably these), ‟unspecified berry”. ‟Thick, rich, raspberry truffle, impressive finish, very sweet.”

D70: darker in colour, and the nose with both plum and strawberry. To taste still lots of heat on the tongue. Plus rather than berries. Heat, early-palate, on tip of tongue., Very rich, full mouthfeel, now medium-sweet. Grade-A lovely, a sentiment echoed by DRT.
