1958 Warre
Re: 1958 Warre
W58: that same orange colour typical of old Warre. I did not like the nose: perfume. Strong perfume: like a young girl who has stolen way too much of mother's cheapest. That same perfume in the taste, and early-palate heat that faded. The whole experience rather short, and dominated by the perfume.
Re: 1958 Warre
On the night: Dull, closed nose. Quite thick in the mouth with marmalade and cigar smoke. A short finish.
4 days later: Nose of freshly changed babies nappy (diaper) - not the smelly kind, that nice clean medicinal smell that you never forget once you've put hundreds of nappies on your own offspring. Thick and smooth entry with dried fruits but then slightly hollow in the mid-palate. Heat in the back of the throat and then a slightly bitter finish.
