1997 Quinta da Foz vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very light colour, pink! Certainly not the colour of a typical 1997. Sweet red licorice on a fragrant nose. Sweet entry, red licorice again with masses of cherry juice and soft milk chocolate tannins. Very forward, mature and very tasty. Gentle and tasty aftertaste. Very advanced and very drinkable. 89/100. Tasted 19 April 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Interesting note as I tasted 1997 Cálem VP about 3 weeks ago. It showed completely differnt. I will put my impressions into the TN section.
