1970 Graham

Post by benread »

An election night port - 6th May 2010. Decanted at 8pm, drunk about 10pm. Very dark red colour - darkest of 4 (1966 & 1970 Sandeman, 1966 Graham). Beautiful colour for 40 year old port and everything suggests this still has plenty of time at or close to a great peak. Some spirit on the nose but mellowed over the evening. This bottle just confirmed all my thoughts about Graham following the Graham/ Malvedos tasting in March. Consistently good port! To taste, we all got something we described as earthiness. It was noticeably sweeter than the two Sandeman bottles.
