1985 Dow

Post by SCP-DFF »

Last port tasting for the early afternoon (I'm already getting a buzz). This 1985 Dow freshly decanted (Husband says it's for drinking tomorrow evening, not for later on this evening. Important to mention since you'd all reprimand him for making such a tragic mistake!): Nose, slight leathery scent, and some red grape fruit. Taste slight maple-y syrup and stumped with what it is, but my husband says that it's closed and that 30 hours will do it a lot of good.

SCP-DFF (aka MaryAnne).

D85: Full-flavoured, long, dry, with slightly-tart cherries and a hint of wood. Will be better tomorrow.

And, miracle!, there is still a little left.

D85, at D+54h. Heat in the middle of tongue, sweeter than the previous day let’s call it medium-sweetness, and the slight woodiness has gone. Lovely. A little lighter than perfect, but not so far from that. Very fine port after long enough in the decanter.
