Slightly corked but not overwhelming. I just saw it as dustiness on the finish and it didn't really ruin the wine. Harsh nose, full-bodied, good tannins and acidity, one for the long haul with a minimum of ten maybe twenty years to go. I thoroughly enjoyed it, shame about the bit of TCA.
Port is basically a red drink

Second flight, served alongside the Guimaraens 1986.

First port of the evening to show an impressive dark colour. Young looking. Lovely mintiness on the nose, but also a bit dusty and backward. Dry, pretty big, spicy and racy. Again a bit dusty and backward. Good dark fruit and beautiful structure. Slightly off-bottle, maybe a spot of cork taint, but still very enjoyable. Pity to know that it could have been even better. One to look out for. 89 points in its current state, but I suspect that a good bottle will be 1-2 points higher.
