I'm afraid I'm just about to go away on holiday for 10 days or so so will probably have to give this a miss. Sorry!

It is possible Thursday 5th might work, subject to permission from SWMBO! Let me check tonight.

Hi there,

sounds great. Can you please specify a bit more? Not VP may also mean I can bring some Wine etc.

Please also specify the date, since I cannot do every evening. Also worth mentioning that from the 3rd to the 7th of August there is the Great British Beer Festival on. Not that this is any important to me being German but it is still worth mentioning I think.

Wolfgang,

Let us know what you can't do, so we can narrow down the possible dates..

.. a little wine would be fine - a decent madeira also maybe; even a sherry - if it promises to be really good!

An easy agenda - just no VP (for once!)

Good suggestion.

Went to a fantastic sherry and tapas tasting at Gordon's Wine Bar the other day - or at least it was billed as a tasting but turned out to be a seven course meal lasting 6 hours! So, I may be tempted to bring a sherry if the date suits (and I can get permission also!)

If placemats are wanted, happy to oblige. As always what is needed, as the small-tasting minimum, are lists of people and of wines, a location and a date.

I take it colheita, LBV, Crusted etc are acceptable? Wouldn't want a port free night, but something other than VP is a nice theme.

I love the theme and would love to have been able to make it, but nothing before August 16 would work for me.

The theme is very reusable.

The placemats might even be titled ‟Anything But Vintage (I)”.

A good regular theme for a high summer bash - why not..

Good by me - difficult for anyone?

Well gents, I had been doing fairly well lately, but I'm afraid it looks like I'm going to be stuck at the office for a while. Looks like I'm going to have to miss the tasting tonight.

Pity Chris, you missed a good night - superb hospitality from the CP as always, and an eclectic mix of beverages..

Abv (II) pencilled in for next August!
