1996 Quevedo Colheita

Post by benread »

This bottle was acquired directly from the Qevedo winery in May 2010 and consumed at this event last week. It was a dark tawny brown/red colour, but perfectly clear. Given I made no notes, it is difficult to be precise a week later, but I wanted to record that it was voted port of the night against some tough competition. A young colheita, but well worth seeking out if this is your style of wines.

As an aside, one of the friends with me also bought a bottle of this at the winery, and ended up consuming it only a day later, with equal levels of enjoyment I understand!

Thanks for the note!

This bottle has been popping up at various stores in the States, and I'm very pleased to see Oscar's progress as Quevedo begins to establish a brand for itself as a value port producer to be reckoned with.

Have a bit of this now holding for me outside Chicago. Will make my next trip back to the States all the more enjoyable.

Chris,

It is available at Borough Wines in London (Borough Market) if you can't wait!
