This was the third of three, in quick succession, with bottle-stink, my least favourite fault. This was the mildest but rotting vegetation never makes for a pleasant drinking experience. Apart from that seemed to be in good shape, lots of cherries and a nice minty finish. Difficult to tell if it's star is rising or falling due to aforementioned cabbage infestation.
Port is basically a red drink

Seventh flight, served alongside Fonseca 1992.

Bit chemical and again stinky on the nose, not very promising. The palate is very dense and concentrated, but also a bit out of balance. Lacking in freshness, if compared with e.g. F85, maybe even slightly stewed, but that could also be the bottle stink doing its dirty job. It does get a bit better in the glass and the structure is impressive. But still not entirely convincing, either an odd phase or contaminated with something. Anyway, not rated.
