Barlborough Team: Dark red 80% opaque. Plum and sweet cherry on the nose. JDAW adds "a little tannin in the nose". DRT thinks JDAW's stuck his nose too far into the glass. JDAW:Soft throughout; alcohol late; same plum and cherry fruits. Very drinkable. Indeed, it seems to be disappearing very fast. DRT: (after a long pause) Cherries. No melon.

The team agree that this is very nice port.

From a sample sent to Wokingham. Deeply coloured, but clear centre. Attractive nose of cinammon spiced redcurrants. Sweet and fruit-dominated entry, with lots of jelly bean and sour cherry. Really delightful layering of flavours and development. Big aftertaste dominated by the jelly beans, leading to a long and flavoursome finish. Very tasty port, extremely enjoyable. 90/100. Drunk 1 September 2010. This was also my wine of the samples sent to Wokingham.

A discussion on the prospect of holding a 1986 Horizontal has been split from this thread by DRT.
