1963 Graham vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red, very slightly lighter in colour than the Taylor 1963 shown alongside; 30% opaque. Sweet and inviting nose, full of redcurrants and raisins and spicy mace. Very "Graham" in the mouth; sweet mixed spiced dried fruits, lots of candied cherries as well as gentle tannins and delightful structure. A beautiful aftertaste and a long finish that is full of sweet, sticky cherry. 92/100. Drunk 24 September 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

G63, the poor lighting restricting the description of the visuals to ‟red, mid translucency”. At D+0 very hot, and same at +15 minutes, Later with berry fruit growing, particularly like ‟hot raspberries”. I wasn’t being eloquent.

My ranking was ‟F60 > G63 > G77 > T63”.
