1994 Tesco

Post by jdaw1 »

1994 Tesco (Symington), decanting having started at 12:45, so now at D + 10 minutes. There were a pair of these, labelled flowers and stars, this being flowers. 60% opaque, red. Lots of dried plum, medium sweetness, medium weight. Will improve with a few hours.

Costing €16 at the Epicerie Anglaise, 6 boulevard Magenta.

1994 Tesco (Symington), bottle labelled flowers, at D + 11 hours. Dark red, 70% opacity. Some mustiness in the mouth, starting dry but becoming sweeter over a minute or two in the mouth, then drier. Good length. Plums. Grapes, some red, some black.

At D + 32 hours, there’s lot of peppery heat, which quickly fades to much lighter sweet red fruits including grape. Lacking complexity and heaviness, but still very drinkable. Drink on day of opening.
