NV Graham Tawny (The Emperor)

Bottled approximately 1975-1980. Decanted from a couple of teaspoons of powdery sediment.

Deep honey colour, almost with a green tinge to it. Honey and clover on the nose, slightly rubbery - not a great nose but not offensive. Oily texture; figs and almonds on the palate, sweet but with a nice balancing acidity. Lovely aftertaste and a big, full finish that lasts a very long time.

Pleasant port, especially the finish, but not vintage port as I would prefer. 83/100. Drunk 16 Feb 2011.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
