The wines consumed at this offline showed well - probably the best bottle I have had of F77 for a while.

WOTO (wine of the offline) was unanimously voted as:
3rd place - F77 (D+0 lunchtime tasting sample)
2nd place - F77 (first evening glass)
1st place - F77 (second and subsequent glasses)

Conclusion - good bottles need another 10-20 years. This is one heck of a port!

And if anyone is close enough to make it to El Vino on Fleet Street before the emergency is over, they would be welcome to join us.

Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Preparing the next whilst finishing the current. Multitasking-tastic.

Sadly, this offer has now had to be withdrawn.

This was a splendid off-line. Two thirsty men and a bottle of Fonseca 1977 is a perfect combination on a Tuesday afternoon.

I can’t quite believe that, having spent 2 years working opposite El Vino’s, this emergency took place on a day when I was unable to assist...

AHB and DRT presumably went to a lot of trouble to know which day you would be unavailable. ;-)

And shame on you for that not being your standard luncheon. :!:

Well, I was there two (working) days earlier, and twice the day after so I don’t think this shame is properly apportioned!
