From half bottle. Opaque (but there was fine sediment in the bottom of the glass), mid red colour. Stewed rhubarb and a funky nose, perhaps indicating a spoiled bottle. Nice palate, with plenty of mature fruit showing stewed apricots and ginger. Hot aftertaste, full of soft oranges. More enjoyable than indicated by the nose. Guessed to be Dow 1983. 82/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Deeply coloured, still, in the middle. Reddening on the edge. Some rounded fruit on the nose. Initially quite nice fruit. Then rather astringent finish. Fine but not great.
