Appearing to be in the early stages of maturity, 80% opaque. Some sweet whitecurrants on the nose. Dry entry with some dry fruit showing over a woody core and some sweet, dry tannins. Light bodied on the palate. A lovely perfumed finish with just a slight hint of VA on the very decent raspberry finish. An enjoyable but lightweight port that was guessed to be Quinta de Corte 1990. Not a good bottle. 84/100.

Hello Julian! Spoke with Charles and showed him this comment. He disagrees with your assessment of the 1980 ”“ he feels it is certainly NOT a lightweight, but actually a fantastic wine, better than the 77 and every bit as good as the 1970; a different profile, but similar weight.

Clear red, Very muted, Good sweetness in mouth, though extremely watery. A bit like drinking Evian, but still nice. Some discussion as to whether flawed.

You are slightly taking me out of context. The sentence immediately following the one you quote reads

Not a good bottle.

I have had much better bottles of Graham 1980 than the one at this tasting.
