Re: 1970 Royal Oporto Quinta Das Carvahlas
Not the regular bottling, but (i believe) a rather attractively bottled single quinta variant. A really good, elegant mature port i felt.
Won the WOTN voting at a canter - certainly not undeserved, but margin possibly aided by the consensus that a RO WOTN was too good an opportunity to turn down!
Thanks to THRA for providing, and for very generously offering up (and making good on) a prize bottle if it was correctly guessed.

THRA’s ROC70. Red-brown, medium translucency. To taste thin, somewhat oxidised, very very smooth, with oranges.
RAYC almost correctly chose RO70. I mis-guessed CR67. Others: CR64, Ni55, Cr60, O60, ?60.

Re: 1970 Royal Oporto Quinta Das Carvahlas
Fully mature in colour: a light pink color. Muted nose. In the mouth, orange, caramel and light sugar. Very drinkable now. (Unexpectedly) excellent.
