Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.
Pi09. Squid-ink colour, as one would expect. Huge passion-fruit nose. Taste similar. Weight medium to medium-light. Big tannin (no surprise) and good acidity.

Pintas 2009 VP
Passion-fruit. It’s all passion-fruit. Everywhere. Other fruit is very subtle and a strong acidity adds to the tropical, acidic fruit sensation. Quite extraordinary in a Port and very attractive.

Being bottled in May 2011; 3,500 bottles produced. Purple colour; muted nose which is very floral and with lots of grapefruit. Grapefruit palate, sweet fruit and brutal tannins that just won't let go. A massive wine. Tannic tingle dominates the finish. 91/100.
Perhaps my grapefruit is Jacob and Julian's passion fruit...
