Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.
Taylor 1985 VP
Red cherries on the nose, with some of the other primary fruit remaining. Perhaps a touch spirity, though, In the mouth, still good fruit with a slight astringency and a pleasing short aftertaste.

Light red, mature, 40% opaque. Lovely nose of mature port, showing stewed plums and tobacco. Soft entry, mature fruit and a tannic backbone. Big palate. Chewy aftertaste showing purple plums and tannins. In a good place for current drinking, but not likely to fall apart any time soon. Good port. 88/100.
